The Frederick

The Frederick is a dynamic bronze and glass tower of interlocking forms designed in conjunction with Mirvac Design. At 23-storeys, the tower makes a powerful gesture at the entrance to the new Green Square city centre. Named to commemorate Labour MP, Frederick Green and his contribution to the surrounding area, The Frederick fronts new urban park, The Drying Green, at the heart of Green Square. Taking best advantage of this great location, the design curves and folds to open out to the 360-degree views.

The Frederick is punctuated by tall corner slots with each façade wrapping the curved corner and tucking into the next elevation like a pin-wheel. At upper levels, the parapet tips towards the sky, accentuating the striking geometric design. The façade is articulated by horizontal and vertical shading elements, fritted spandrels and bands of glazing. The varied depth and angles of the fixed vertical fins respond to each of the different façade orientations to both optimise views and maintain solar control and privacy. The terrazzo base to the tower provides solidity and a familiar human scale.  A new laneway connects the site to the surrounding public domain.

Residences include three corner apartments on every floor with amazing curved living spaces offering panoramic views of the city and skyline. Ease of furnishing and decoration is provided by a generous width and straight internal walls.
